To all the JA Dojo Heads and JA members,

Ohana 2020 Cancellation - Corona Virus Update

The AJI has made the extremely difficult decision to CANCEL the 2020 Ohana. While we initially intended to make a decision at our April 12th Meeting, rapidly changing circumstances have forced this decision. The safety and security of our members and those who planned to attend the event are paramount. Hawaii is effectively closed for business and the likelihood of a quick recovery is remote. There were more statewide announcements this morning. Businesses, schools, churches, government buildings, hotels, restaurants, bars and all mass activities are severely restricted, prohibited or completely closed. There are as well, shortages of goods. These conditions are all expected to last through the summer. This is so unfortunate as we had experienced a great response to the event. Along with the Ohana, all related events are also cancelled including the H.S. Okazaki National Tournament, the Grave Site visit and the Shingen No Maki class. All event payments to the AJI, will be refunded shortly. Those who have paid with PayPal will receive refunds to their accounts, while those who paid otherwise, will be mailed a check. Those who have reserved rooms at the Hotel, should cancel immediately. Please be safe and protect your loved ones.
