neighborhood of $30 to $60 but for the donation of $15 ( $10 for Jujitsu
America Members ) we share techniques with others in our Martial Arts
Family.

to see some new faces at this upcoming Jujitsu America Clinic.

Overview:
-
Kata/Self-Defense: Participants will be given an overview of the JA Kata/Self-Defense
competition format, rules, and scoring.
- Sport Jujitsu: Participants will
join in a detailed discussion covering the JA Sport Jujitsu competition format,
rules, and scoring. Training matches will be run with trainee referees and officials
playing in each role (Mat Referee, Side Referee, Match Timekeeper, Mat Timekeeper)
with experienced JA officials shadowing the trainees and providing feedback and
guidance, while competitors have an opportunity to take part in matches which
are officiated according to the rules.
The
goal of this clinic is to prepare new referees and officials to participate in
JA Sport Jujitsu competition events and also to prepare athletes for competition
in the JA Sport Jujitsu venue.
Trainee
officials seeking certification will complete a written examination as the final
step in the clinic. Those that pass the examination will receive a certificate
after the clinic.

All Sport Jujitsu competitors are
required to wear the following:
- Approved padded vinyl sparring gear
(open-finger gloves and foot-pads)
- Mouthpiece
- Groin protector (for males)

Headgear is Mandatory for Children under the age of 14. Headgear is Optional for
Adults.
Other Optional Equipment includes
the following (all must be worn inside the uniform):
- Soft shin pads

Knee pads
- Elbow pads
- Forearm pads
- Chest protector

The Clinic will review the Jujitsu America Sport Jujitsu Rules and run a series
of training rounds in order to better familiarize all with the format and rules.

Ed Melaugh's Practical Street Self-Protection / Using Small Circle Jujitsu.
Will focus on transitional locking for the street and weapons defense against
the machete.
If everyone could bring a machete dulled down and tape over the
blade. (Sensei Melaugh will be bring machetes with him).
The machete is weapon
of choice in the Boston area. A machete is considered a 'farming tool' and is
not illegal to carry. The Police Department has seized a lot of machetes from
local gang members.
